Please refer to our IOMs of even number dated 05.09.2006 and 22.09.2006 on the subject mentioned above. 

2.         The Institution is switching over to National Bank of Pakistan for provision of banking services from 1^st October, 2006. As a result of the same the contribution collection and pension disbursement functions shall be performed by designated branches of NBP. The lists of authorized branches mapped with UBL Branches have already been communicated to you by e-mail as well as by  Reconciliation Department.  

3.         NBP shall be disbursing pension from 2nd October, 2006 on the basis of LPC issued by UBL addressed to the mapped NBP Branch. Copies of NBP Circular have also been provided to all Regional Heads which contains  detailed procedure for collection of contribution and disbursement of pension.

4.         We are confident that by now you must have mobilized your teams to visit the branches of NBP and UBL for acquaintance and smooth transition. To further facilitate the pensioners and employers the following actions must be taken: - 

I.                     Officers and Staff members of the Institution (by name) must be deputed to visit UBL and NBP Branches from 28.09.2006 to 10.10.2006. They should redirect the pensioners and employers from UBL to NBP and to facilitate the pensioners to get their pension smoothly from NBP designated branches respectively. 

II.                   In case a pensioner is not holding LPC he may be politely asked / facilitated to visit UBL Branch to obtain LPC and then approach NBP branch for disbursement of pension.  

III.                  In case a pensioner wants to switch over to another NBP authorized branch, a LPC may be obtained from concerned NBP branch after disbursement of pension and a fresh PPO may be issued by the Regional Office addressed to the new NBP branch. 

5.         Fresh PPOs must be computerized and e-mailed on every Friday to IT Department before delivering them to the claimants (details already communicated vide IOM mentioned above).

6.         Names of the NBP Regional Chiefs and their contact numbers have already been communicated to all Regional Offices. Please contact them for further assistance and facilitation. 

7.         I am sure that all efforts shall be made by each employee of the Institution to facilitate the pensioners in transition to NBP.
